My Recycling Effort PDF Print E-mail

I've been trying to change my lifestyle in Indiana for about a year. The first step was the cfl light bulbs. The next was to recycle. It was amazing, the amount of trash was cut in half immediately. The problem with recycling was where to take the items and what can be recycled there. After several efforts and several miles on the car, I found the best place to recycle the most material was Indiana State University and Goodwill Industries (Goodwill doesn't take glass in our town). However, this is a 6 mile drive. The county only recycles paper and plastic - still leaves a problem with glass. I have also been purchasing biodegradable trash bags from a web site. The more I get use to the process, the more recycleable items I find. I have been curious about the composting process but haven't done much about it. What's the best recycling procedure and what works in the home?
