The GreenBuild Conference & Expo is being held in Boston, November 19-21, 2008. This event will feature a Master Speaker series with internationally renowned leaders and innovators. "The Green Revolution" - USGBC Boston Host Committee Welcome Event at the Boston Children's Museum. Greenbuild International Forum featuring green building leaders from around the world. Opening Keynote Speaker: Archbishop Desmond Tutu whose life, work and message demonstrate the power of transformational change. He is a key figure in ending aparthheid in South Africa. His many accomplishments include receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism and the Gandhi Peace Prize. Keynote Closing - Science in Sustainability. Two of the greatest minds in science today, Kevin Klose will moderate an animated discussion between E.O. Wilson and Janine Benyus. They will discuss the importance of biodiversity, the virtues of biomimicry and how we can learn from the nature that surrounds us all. Other speakers will include: Van Jones, President and Founder of Green For All; Stefan Behnisch, Behnisch, Behnisch & Partners; Majora Carter, Executive Director for Sustainable South Bronx; Carol Browner, Former Administrator for the U.S. EPA; Paul Anastas, Director of the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at Yale University; Bill McKibben, Environmentalist and Author and Howard Frumkin, director of The National Center for Environmental Health, CDC. The Best of Greenbuild will include Leith Sharp, Director of the Harvard Green Campus Initiative. Leith Sharp has worked with universities for the past 10 years to achieve organizational change in the pursuit of environmental sustainability. In 2000, she established the HGCI and became director of this emerging organization. She also co-instructs the Harvard Extension School course, "Sustainability - The Challenge of Changing Our Institutions". Green Homebuilder's Day - Will feature Kevin O'Connor, host of This Old House and Ask This Old House. He was nominated for an "Outstanding Service Show Host" Emmy Award in his debut season. This year he enters his sixth season of the Emmy Award winning series This Old House and the Emmy nominated series Ask This Old House.
